Google Doodle celebrates late Super Eagles player Samuel Okwaraji

World’s number one search engine Google is celebrating the life and times of late Nigeria Super Eagles player Samuel Sochukwuma Okwaraji with a special doodle in his memory.

The late Super Eagles player was born 19th May, 1964 and today is his 55th posthumous birthday.

Samuel Okwaraji was born in Orlu in Imo State, Nigeria. He held a Masters degree in International law from the Pontifical Lateran University, Rome.

He made 8 caps for Nigeria and scored the fastest goal in the history of African Cup of Nations. Okwaraji died at 25 at a World Cup qualifiers game at the National Stadium in Lagos on August 12, 1989.

Before his death the footballer played briefly for European football clubs; AS Roma, Austria Klagenfurt, NK Dinamo Zagreb, VfB Stuttgart.
