At least 280 Boko Haram militants have been killed in a combo of air strikes and attack by troops as announced by the Defence Ministry in a recent operation last week.
In a statement on Wednesday by Niger’s Defence Ministry said the Army has carried out a sweep operation against the militants along the south-eastern Komadugu River, which separates Niger and Nigeria last Friday.
According to the reports about 87 BH fighters were killed by the Nigerien troops while about 200 were ‘neutralized’ by air strikes.
Boko Haram has terrorized Niger, Cameroon, Chad with their base in North-East of Nigeria as it attempts to create its own Islamist caliphate.
